The Adobe Document Server lets enterprises automatically generate and customize PDF files and forms. The server is built on an architecture to enable integration with existing enterprise systems, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), and content management systems. Developers can use XML, Java, Perl, and COM interfaces to build scripts and program logic for automating the creation of PDF documents. Companies can use the server to dynamically create documents like technical manuals, brochures, proposals, forms, and more. Adobe also shipped Adobe Document Server for Reader Extensions, which lets companies assign usage rights to the PDF documents it dynamically creates. Adobe Document Server pricing starts at $20,000 per CPU. New capabilities include support for EPS and PDF; conversion of SVG files to PDF; enhanced support for image metadata and Adobe Photoshop 7.0 native files and engines; CMYK image manipulation; and clipping path support. The vendor also shipped the Adobe Graphics Server 2.0, formerly known as Adobe AlterCast. It's designed to handle all of a company's graphics needs, according to Adobe -- not just Web site work, but print images as well. Pricing for Adobe Graphics Server begins at $7,500 per CPU.
