UPS Logistics Chooses Parts-Planning Platform
UPS Logistics will use the software to create service-parts networks that can control post-sales service costs and improve customer service. It will also use the software to forecast inventory needs. UPS Logistics said the software should help its customers achieve lower inventory carrying costs, improved technician productivity, lower warranty penalties, and better transportation costs. UPS Logistics' parts-planning services will initially launch in the U.S. and Canada, and then they will be expanded into Europe and Asia. Privately held Baxter Planning Systems is based in Austin, Texas.
