Covalent Delivers Secure FTP Server
The Covalent FTP Server is based on the Apache 2.0 code. One of the big advantages is that the server makes use of Apache's core processing and infrastructure components, so an IT department could run both a Web server and FTP server from a single Apache instance while also sharing security components such as authorization, authentication, and logging. Other features include support for secure authorization, X.509 digital certificates, and SSL/TLS encryption security. Covalent works with FTP clients that support both plain text FTP and FTP over SSL, including popular clients such as CuteFTP and WSFTP Pro. The server can take advantage of the Apache 2.0 processing architecture and run in either pre-forked or threaded mode. Covalent is best known for its enterprise-supported version of the Apache Web server.
