The apps run on top of Interwoven 5, the company's flagship content-management platform. TeamDoc brings traditional document management-style workflow to the Interwoven platform, providing tools for users to share, manage, and collaborate on documents online. Key features include a document dashboard that provides a single view of documents; EasyTag, for attaching keywords and summaries; and EasyRoute, for document workflow and approval. TeamCode lets developers manage, test, and deploy their Web application code from within the Interwoven environment. TeamCode features include customizable "routes" for tracking a project through its lifecycle; browser-based activity managers and dashboards for monitoring code development; and plug-in compatibility with most major IDEs. The goal is to bring the same rigor to Web-code management as is now common across other development environments. TeamPortal leverages XML and SOAP to beef up the content-management services required to field a useful enterprise portal. The tool provides wizards and templates that let portal users generate content while letting IT oversee the process. "This is a whole new application layer of content services that fit on top of the Interwoven technology," said Kevin Cochrane, Interwoven's vice president of product management. "It lets you get more out of [the content management] technology you've already bought." The move also turns the core Interwoven application into something like a development platform, with open APIs for building new apps that take advantage of its core content-management capabilities. While Interwoven is releasing what it believes are three important content services, it believes enterprises will build many more, all suited to their unique needs. In addition to the core Interwoven platform, the new applications take advantage of other platform capabilities, including TeamSite Content Management, MetaTagger Content Intelligence, and OpenDeploy Content Distribution software. As part of the announcements, Interwoven said portal vendors IBM and Plumtree are using its new TeamPortal product to add content-management features to their enterprise portal products. TeamPortal is available for IBM, BEA, Oracle, SAP and Plumtree portal products. Pricing starts at $150,000. TeamDoc is available now. Pricing starts at $50,000. TeamCode will be available in the third quarter. Pricing is still to be determined, but the product will be priced per developer. |
